We at The Humble Co. offer the highest quality toothbrushes without losing sight of our values for sustainability and making the world a better place. We look for a balance in being as green as possible, while offering quality that holds up to conventional toothbrushes.

With that said, it’s important to highlight the good when there is some to be shared! Our nylon bristles are in part (roughly 40%) made from a natural, plant-based source, namely ricin oil. The chemical process is complicated but in short, these new bristles require and use less petroleum in their production than regular old-school nylon bristles.

100% plant-based bristles is the over-arching goal for The Humble Co., and we’re constantly challenging and encouraging the industry to come up with new solutions. Less petroleum in the bristles is a good first step but we have a long way to go before we’re content.

Rest assured – when 100% biodegradable bristles (that work – animal hairs excluded) that fulfill dentists requirements exist – you will know where to find them.
